Once you have received your panels, you will need to install them in the required locations. A Ricoh installer can do this for you or you can choose to do it yourself.

Pre-requisites

Power over Ethernet

You will need to provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the location of each Smart Display. Please ensure that sufficient power is available for the model of Smart Display that you are using.

Internet Connectivity

It is assumed that each Smart Display will have Internet connectivity provided via the PoE cable. However, you may choose to use a WiFi connection instead (please note that WiFi cannot be used with Logitech Tap Schedulers if power is provided by PoE). Regardless of whether you use an ethernet or WiFi connection please ensure these network settings have been made.

Smart Displays Software

If you purchase a Smart Display from RICOH, the panel will come pre-installed with our RICOH Spaces Smart Displays application.

If you have provided your own Smart Display panel you will need to ensure that the Smart Displays software has been installed.

Remote Management Software

If you purchase a Qbic Smart Display from RICOH, the panel will come pre-installed with software to allow remote management of your device. This allows us to troubleshoot issues, update software, and schedule tasks like daily reboots, all from a remote location.

Currently, if you provide your own Smart Displays panels (or choose Logitech Tap Scheduler panels), remote management by Ricoh is not available.

Physical installation of a Smart Display panel by the end user

If you would like to install your Smart Display that you’ve purchased from RICOH yourself, please see the article here which will provide further information and guidance on how to install QBIC and Logitech Tap Scheduler Smart Display panels.
