Background

On Thursday 15th of February, an issue was reported where QR codes were not being scanned successfully.

When a user tries to scan a space's QR code using their RICOH Spaces mobile app, nothing happens.

Devices affected:

  • Mobile -Scan QR Code

Workaround:

  • Use the Mobile or Web Feed to check in, book, cancel, and edit bookings.

  • Using your PIN on panels to check in, book, and cancel meeting room bookings.

Timeline:

Identification - February 18, 2024:
- Users reported inability to scan QR codes on their mobile devices.
- Issue was immediately prioritised as urgent by our team.

Investigation - February 18-19, 2024:
- Technical team commenced investigation into the root cause of the QR code scanning issue.

Development - February 19, 2024:
- Development team initiated work on a solution to address the QR code scanning problem.

Current Status: Testing - February 19, 2024:
- Testing team are conducting comprehensive testing of the fix.

Released to Live Environment - February 20, 2024:

- We released a new version of the mobile app:

RICOH Spaces Version 2.0.31

* Updated Flutter SDK to 3.0.19
