In this article, we will go through the different ways you can acquire Smart Displays.

Acquiring Smart Displays

There are 2 ways you can do this:

  • Let Ricoh provide you with a configured & managed device, this will include receiving a QBIC or Logitech Tap Scheduler with the RICOH Smart Displays app pre-installed. Please check this with your account manager.

  • You can source your own Android devices (please note that we have a list of hardware approved for use with RICOH Spaces). Should you source your own devices, they might be untested, might not be supported and won't be managed by RICOH. You will also be responsible for the physical installation of the devices and for the installation of the Smart Displays software (either via the Google Play Store or by using a USB Drive)

Benefits of purchasing your Smart Displays from RICOH?

If you purchase your Smart Displays from RICOH, the device will come pre-installed with our RICOH Spaces application. Furthermore, they can also be set up and installed by a RICOH technician.

We also offer a managed service on Qbic panels, therefore we would have remote management of your device. This will enable us to troubleshoot issues remotely, as well as update software and schedule features such as daily reboots.

Minimum requirements

Please note that we have minimum requirements particularly because our dependencies (for example, MapsPeople or Microsoft InTune) require them. The device model will be dictated by the OS version compatibility.

For example, Both iPadOS 13 and iOS 13 drop support for devices with less than 2 GB of RAM.

The latest requirements for Smart Displays are iOS 14.0 and Android 8.0. For Apple devices that is iPad Air 2, iPad Air 3rd Generation, iPad 5th Generation and iPad Mini 4 and later. All iPad Pro models are supported.

The latest requirements for mobile are iOS 14.0 and Android 6. For Apple devices that is iPhone 6S and later.
