It's been a busy period for the RICOH Spaces Team. Our focus has been on improving the platform's performance, ensuring the most popular functionalities are running smoothly as well as delivering new features into V2. Below are some key tasks and highlights the team worked on during the months of April and May.
Sensors are on 🛜
Sensors have been migrated to the all-new platform and are now all functional. Sensors capture key information about your live office such as the occupancy and the count of people. Those data are captured in your -also available- insight reports: Attendance and Waste Space. The people count on the Floorplan is visible at the top right corner of your rooms. Turn on the policy using sensors, 'Cancel unoccupied desks', and turn on Occupancy as availability for all your relevant spaces.
Here is how it will reflect on the Floorplan:
When the option has been enabled, all non-bookable spaces will show as Green (not currently occupied) or Red (currently occupied).
If a space is bookable and does not use IOT sensors, then it will show as orange if not booked by a user at the time.
When a non-bookable workspace is occupied via IoT sensors rather than displayed as orange on the floorplan it will show as red.
If a space is Enabled, Bookable and set up to use occupancy as availability, booked workspaces will still show as Red on the floorplan even if the space is unoccupied.
Print QR code in dark mode 🖨️
Printing and sticking QR codes on your desks allow your users the flexibility to either book or check in to desks using their mobile phones. Simply open the app, scan and confirm!
If you use the web app in dark mode, you no longer have to switch to light mode to print your QR codes.
Mobile Release 📱
Are you using the latest release of Mobile? Version 2.0.9 was updated on 4th May.
The 4th May release focused on enhancing existing features to iron out any bugs following feedback from our customers.
Smart Displays (Room Panel) 📺
New release of the Room Panel APK focusing on existing features and bugs in readiness for enhancements to support new functionality and new hardware. More on Smart Displays in the next release.
Performance of the apps 📈
RICOH Spaces v2 has been experiencing some intermittent degradation in performance for some customers in specific areas of the application. We worked on boosting the loading time and the platform is now 3x faster than it was. Please refer to our Incident Report for an update on the progress and timeline.
Stories & Bugs Fixes 🐛
As well as our standard mid and end-of-month releases we have included several small hot fix releases during April and May to respond to specific issues impacting user experience.
Including:
Room auto-cancel email: users were sent repetitive emails.
Profile not saving because of the pin: users could not save the changes made to their profile. We found out it was because the pin chosen was already used by another user. Instead of letting the user know, the saving button kept spinning.
Improved loading of the floor plan on Mobile.
