Whilst the Occupancy Intelligence Forecast Report focuses on predicting occupancy from your existing data, the Occupancy Intelligence Report is all about understanding how your building was used at a selected period.

In this article, learn all about the metrics and how they help you understand your occupancy.

At the top of the report, you will see the available filters:

  • Day date - Choose a predefined filter such as "last 90 days" or choose your custom start and end date.

  • Location Filter - You can add one or more locations and the report will provide all the data relating to your choice. This is a core filter and as such how all other filters act will depend on the selection here.

  • Is Office Hours - This will calculate occupancy based on your office hours (X hours a day) or calculate occupancy for the whole day (24 hours).

  • Zone Name - Filter by zones.

  • Meeting Room Name - Filter by meeting rooms.

Note: Whenever you change the filters you must click on the reload icon at the top right of the report to refresh.

Note: This report uses your sensor data in order to provide you with in-depth insights.

Key Metrics of the Services Report

Location Occupancy Overview

  • Average Meeting Room Occupancy

  • Average Desk Occupancy

Average Occupancy is the combined occupancy rate for all spaces at a location over the specified time period.

occupancy rate = occupied hours / available hours*

*available hours per day are the hours in a working day ( or whole day if selected 'No' in the 'Is Office Hours' Filter)

  • Average Available Meeting Rooms

  • Average Available Desks

The average number of available spaces in the specified time period

  • Average Number of People In Location

The average number of people occupying the location during the selected time period

  • Average Location Occupancy By Location

This provides you with the average occupancy ( in per cent) for the selected location. In this example, our office is only occupied 12% of its available time.

  • Location Occupancy By Day

This graph shows your occupancy by day of the week. It provides you with an average number of people, the highest count of people registered and average occupancy per day. In this example, we can observe that Tuesday had the highest peak of people, followed by Thursday.

  • Location Occupancy by Hour of Day

This graph, similar to the previous one, focuses on the hours of the day. In this example, the highest peaks have been registered at 10 AM and 11 AM.

Floor Occupancy Overview

  • Average Floor Occupancy By Space Type

This provides you with the average occupancy ( in per cent) of your spaces by type, for your floors. In this example, the highest occupancy registered is for meeting rooms.

  • Average Floor Occupancy

This graph breaks down the type of occupancy of your Floor. In this example, most of the time, the floor is unoccupied and not booked. 11% of the Floor was occupied but not booked and 3% had been booked but was unoccupied.

Passive means that the sensor cannot detect a person in the room, but it can detect "signs-of life" such as a bag on the floor meaning that the room is still in use.

Zone Occupancy Overview (Excluding Meeting Rooms)

  • Average Zone Occupancy

Similar to the previous graph, this one focuses on the type of occupancy per zone. We can see this location has two zones: Ground - no zone and Main Desk Area. The majority of the space is unoccupied and unbooked.

Meeting Room Occupancy Overview

  • Average Meeting Room Occupancy

Similar to the previous graph, this one focuses on the occupancy of your meeting rooms.

  • Average Meeting Room Occupancy by Hour of Day

The graph breaks down the occupancy of your meeting rooms by hour of the day. In this example, we can see that on average meetings rooms are the busiest from 9 AM to 12 PM.

  • Meeting Attendance Breakdown

In this pie chart, we can observe that most bookings have not been attended (67%).

  • Meeting Attendance By Room

In this chart, you can see a breakdown of meeting rooms' attendance. This only considers meeting room bookings ( and not unplanned meetings).

  • Space Occupancy Summary

This table provides you with a breakdown of all your spaces and their occupancy.

  • Spaces Sensor Data

This table, overlapping with the previous table, provides you with an in-depth breakdown of each one of your spaces captured by sensors.
