You might have been asked by a member of the support team to clear your RICOH Spaces app cache. Clearing cache and storage is a worthwhile attempt to fix a misbehaving app.

  • Clear cache: Deletes temporary data. Some apps can open slower the next time that you use them.

  • Clear data storage: Permanently deletes all app data. We recommend trying to delete from inside the app first.

Clearing the cache on iOS

You can usually clear an app’s cache and data through your phone’s Settings app. Settings can vary by phone. For more info, get help from your device manufacturer.

iPhone X and later

  1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.

  2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.

  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.

iPhone SE, iPhone 8 and earlier, and iPod touch

  1. Double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps.

  2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.

  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.

Steps to clear documents & data

Go to Settings > General > [Device] Storage. You may see a list of recommendations for optimising your device's storage, followed by a list of installed apps and the amount of storage each one uses. Tap an app's name for more information about its storage. Cached data and temporary data may not be counted as usage.

In the detailed view you can:

  • Offload the app, which frees up storage used by the app, but keeps its documents and data.

  • Delete the app, which removes the app and its related data.

  • Depending on the app, you might be able to delete some of its documents and data.

If your device is almost full and can't free up space, you may receive a Storage Almost Full alert. If you receive this alert, you should check the storage recommendations or offload some less frequently used content, such as videos and apps.
