This guide will outline the process for successfully integrating MapsPeople into RICOH Spaces.

Prerequisite

Before being able to integrate Mapspeople into RICOH Spaces, a MapsPeople instance needs to be created for the customer and location. Before or after the Venue and Locations (Location and Spaces) have been created in MapsPeople, a CSV file must be provided to MapsPeople with a list of RICOH Spaces Spaces and their unique IDs, requesting to add the RICOH Spaces ID to their External ID.

Integrating MapsPeople intro RICOH Spaces

Once this has been done we can get started with the RICOH Spaces part of the integration.

1. Log into the MapsPeople CMS https://cms-beta.mapsindoors.com/map

2. Select the correct project from the dropdown menu then navigate to Solution Details.

3. Head to App Settings, then API Keys.

4. Next, we need to create an API Key. To do this we need to add a name, for example 'RICOH Spaces API Key' and click Generate API key.

5. Once generated, you will see a new API key listed, copy the API Key and navigate to RICOH Spaces.

9. Finally, you need to link RICOH Spaces floors and MapsPeople floors together. To do this, navigate to Organisation within your Mapspeople CSM.

10. Copy the ID that you’ll find inside MapsPeople within the Buildings area for the Floor you want to link into RICOH Spaces. https://cms-beta.mapsindoors.com/buildings

11. In RICOH Spaces, select the location you’re managing and then open the Floors section. Find the Floor you want to link and click on its Edit button. You’ll see a Map Orientation and Maps People ID. Copy the MapsPeople Floor ID into the Maps People ID field.

Note: You can link multiple Floors. Simply repeat the process of copying the Mapspeople Floor ID and pasting it into the Floor's Maps People ID field within RICOH Spaces.

Note: The Map Orientation can be used to change which direction the map loads in, e.g. the map can be loaded to face in an east direction instead of north. To do this, head to your 3D Map within RICOH Spaces, select the orientation of your choice and click on the gear icon. Copy the map orientation value into your Floor's settings and hit Save. The map will now automatically display according to your selected orientation.

12. Now RICOH Spaces and MapsPeople should be fully configured and you should be able to view the floors in the advanced map mode.
